Our Nursing Team

Our nursing team is made up of highly skilled Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants (HCAs), each bringing a wide range of experience, knowledge and expertise to support your care.

Practice Nurses

Our Practice Nurses carry out a wide variety of treatment room procedures and long-term condition management appointments. Their work includes;

• Routing cervical screening (smear test)
• Childhood and adult immunisations (including travel vaccines)
• Injectable medicines
• Contraception and women's health support
• Wound care and dressing changes
• Chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension)
• NHS Health Checks and lifestyle advice

Health Care Assistants (HCAs)

HCAs play an essential role in delivering day-to-day care and supporting patients with a wide range of services. Their responsibilities include:

• Blood test sample collection (phlebotomy)
• Blood pressure checks and monitoring
• NHS Health Checks and new patient health reviews
• B12 Injections
• Influenza (flu) and a selection of other immunisations
• Basic wound dressings and suture/clips removal
• ECGs and basic observations
• Supporting chronic disease clinics and patient education
